Version 7.3 - Release Notes May 18, 2004

Feature Details  back to version info
.NET Control The Loftware .NET control offers Loftware customers connectivity to the Loftware Print Server (LPS) from their .NET applications for the purposes of making label requests. Connectivity is supplied via a socket connection thereby maximizing speed, scalability, and reliability. 32-bit development languages such as C#, J#, managed C++, and VB.NET can utilize this innovative technology to harness the power of LPS from your own applications without specialized knowledge of label printing specifics. .NET Control Samples are included for your convenience.
UCC BAR CODE WIZARD The UCC Bar Code Wizard includes the latest RSS Symbologies*. It allows label designers to easily build SSCC, GTIN, RSS, RSS Composite, GM, HIBC, and TLC39 data structures for providing data to the appropriate symbology at runtime. The Wizard walks you through a series of well-defined steps to arrive at the final data structure which adheres to the specifications without the need for detailed knowledge of how they work.
*Reduced Space Symbology(RSS) - This is a new barcode symbology from the Uniform Code Council to allow the tagging of products that are too small for conventional UPC symbols. RSS is a family of symbologies that encodes EAN.UCC System keys as well as Application Identifiers. Industries such as grocery/food and healthcare all benefit from this new family of symbologies. The supported symbols include RSS-14, RSS-14 Truncated, RSS Stacked, RSS Stacked Omni directional, and RSS Limited.

Composite Component Symbology- This new symbology is a two-dimensional symbol designed to act as a component of existing and new EAN.UCC System linear symbols. EAN.UCC System keys are not supported, however system’s Application Identifiers are. The result is a new symbology family providing encodation of item_versions attribute data in confined spaces. All symbols mentioned above in the RSS section are supported in their Composite forms.
