System Requirements

To run Loftware software, make sure your system meets the below listed minimum requirements. Use these minimum system requirements as a guideline. Optimal configuration for the production environment depends on the specifics and complexity of individual labeling project.

NiceLabel 2019

Applies to: NiceLabel Designer, NiceLabel Print, NiceLabel Automation, NiceLabel Web Client

  • CPU: Intel or compatible x86 family processor
  • Memory: 2 GB or more RAM
  • Hard drive: 1 GB of available disk space
  • 32-bit or 64-bit Windows operating systems: Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 10, Windows Server 2016* and Windows Server 2019*
  • Microsoft .NET Framework Version 4.7.2 or above
  • Display: 1366×768 or higher resolution monitor
  • Recommended printer drivers: NiceLabel printer drivers V5.1 or above

* Windows Server Core and Windows Nano Server are not supported

* App-V is not supported. But you can use NiceLabel applications in Citrix environment. 

Additional Requirements for NiceLabel Cloud

These are requirements for the clients to be able to connect to the NiceLabel Cloud.

  • Outbound Internet connectivity to <your_account>.onnicelabel.com
    • port 443/TCP to access Control Center's user interface in the browser
    • port 8080/TCP to access label assets in document storage from locally installed NiceLabel clients
  • Outbound Internet connectivity to labelcloudapi.onnicelabel.com
    • ports 9350 to 9354 or 80 or 443 (all TCP), if you use Cloud Trigger API
    • port 443/TCP if you use Cloud Print API
  • The following sites added into the Trusted sites zone (Internet options>Security settings):
    • For Microsoft authentication: https://*.onnicelabel.com, https://login.microsoftonline.com, https://aadcdn.msauth.net, https://aadcdn.msftauth.net, https://login.live.com
    • For Google authentication: https://*.onnicelabel.com, https://accounts.google.com, https://ssl.gstatic.com
  • Support for WebDAV protocol. Windows 10 enables the support out of the box. You have to add support for Windows Server operating systems. See details in this KB article.
  • Recommended browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer 9+, Microsoft Edge (latest), Google Chrome (latest), Mozilla Firefox (latest), Safari (latest)
  • JavaScript available (enabled Active scripting in the Internet options>Security tab>Internet zone>Custom level...>Scripting section)
Additional Requirements for NiceLabel Control Center and NiceLabel PowerForms Web Components (both on-premise)

These are the server requirements for infrastructure, where you will install on-premise server components (NiceLabel Control Center, NiceLabel Web Printing site).

  • Memory: 4 GB or more RAM
  • Hard drive: 10 GB of available disk space
  • Operating system: “Home” editions of Windows operating system are not supported
  • Database server: Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Microsoft SQL Server 2012, Microsoft SQL Server 2014, Microsoft SQL Server 2016, Microsoft SQL Server 2017, Microsoft SQL Server 2019 (Running on Windows platform, Express Edition of products listed above are also supported)
  • IIS 7 and above
  • Default web site enabled in IIS (for Control Center)
  • Using port 80 (HTTP) or port 443 (HTTPS). (Running Control Center on other ports is not supported).
  • Support for WebDAV protocol. Windows 10 enables the support out of the box. You have to add support for Windows Server operating systems. See details in this KB article.
  • Recommended browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer 9+, Microsoft Edge (latest), Google Chrome (latest), Mozilla Firefox (latest), Safari (latest)
  • JavaScript available (enabled Active scripting in the Internet options>Security tab>Internet zone>Custom level...>Scripting section)
  • To use the Digital Signature feature, the computer where you installed NiceLabel Control Center component must be able to authenticate users. NiceLabel calls LogonUserW function from Windows API that attempts to log a user on to the local computer and validate the provided username/password.
